Through the Mining Statistical Bulletin (BEM), published by the General Directorate for Mining Promotion and Sustainability, it also indicates the decrease in the production of gold, silver, lead and molybdenum, in the penultimate month of 2022 compared to the same month of 2021.

The BEM details that copper production showed a growth of 15.3% (224,976 Fine Metric Tons - FMT) in November 2022, compared to the same month of 2021 (195,117 FMT) due to the good performance of the mining companies Antamina, Cerro Verde and Southern Peru. Meanwhile, the accumulated production from January to November registered an increase of 3.4% (2,187,058 FMT), compared to the same period of the previous year (2,115,928 FMT).

Meanwhile, zinc production reported a year-on-year increase of 1.2% (113,878 FMT) in November 2022. Accumulated production up to November showed a contraction of 11.5% (1,245,175 FMT), compared to the same period in 2021 (1,406,836 FMT).

Meanwhile, iron production in November increased by 6.2% (1,060,828 FMT), compared to the same month in 2021 (998,487 FMT). The BEM also reported decreases in November 2022, in the interannual national production of gold -2.9% (8,404,700 fine grams), silver -10.2% (244,462 fine kilograms), lead -6.8% (21,220 FMT) and molybdenum -15.0% (2,726 FMT).

At the regional level, they occupy the first position: Áncash, in the production of copper, zinc and silver with 19.9%, 40.1% and 21.5% of national production. La Libertad produces 33.3% of gold.
