Brazil's 13th oil and gas licensing round will include new and mature blocks in the so-called Eastern Margin, local sector regulator ANP told BNamericas on Monday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Rio Oil & Gas trade fair, ANP secretary general Magda Chambriard confirmed the round would be held in the first half of next year.
It will comprise onshore and offshore blocks from Rio Grande do Sul in the south to Rio Grande do Norte in the country's northeast.
"We've been seeing good results in these areas and we believe they will attract interest from companies, whether they be state or private," Chambriard said.
The auction will be Brazil's first offering of new oil and gas blocks since 2013, when three bid rounds were held within six months.
Chambriard said details of 13th round areas would be announced by December.
BNamericas will host its 11th Southern Cone Energy Summit in Lima, Peru, on November 12-13. Click here to download the agenda.
