Peru's state agency for promoting private investment ProInversión has launched a tender to hire a consulting firm to evaluate a private proposal to modernize the Muelle Norte terminal at Callao port, the entity reported in a release. Interested firms have until May 14 to ask questions about the bidding rules and replies will be given by May 19. Technical and financial proposals must be submitted on May 27 and the tender will be awarded on June 5. Muelle Norte is currently run by national port operator Enapu and last year DP World presented a US$1.3bn proposal to improve and operate the terminal under a 30-year concession. With the results of the evaluation in hand, national port authority APN and ProInversión can present the proposal to the national government, after which the project can be declared of national interest.
