Rugby begins drilling at Colombia's San Antonio gold project
Canadian miner Rugby has begun drilling at its San Antonio gold project in Colombia, the company said on Wednesday.
The project will initially comprise two deep drill holes with the first targeting a depth of 800m, according to a company statement.
Rugby contracted Logan Drilling Colombia, a local subsidiary of Canada-based Logan Drilling Group International, to conduct the 1,500m program.
"We are excited to initiate drilling at San Antonio, our first drill program in Colombia," Rugby CEO Paul Joyce said. "Additionally, we are pleased to work with Logan Drilling, a company with a great reputation and extensive experience in Colombia."
Drilling will take place over six to eight weeks with results expected in November.
Rugby said it aims to test a gold porphyry target below an outcropping quartz stockwork zone "that is coincident with anomalous gold geochemistry."
