Talisman affiliates selling Colombia oil pipeline stake for US$595mn
Two affiliates of Talisman Energy (NYSE, TSX: TLM) reached an agreement to sell their combined 12% interest in the Ocensa oil pipeline in Colombia to an investment group led by Advent International for approximately US$595mn, the former said in a press release.
The deal is part of Talisman CEO Hal Kvisle's 18-month asset disposal program targeting US$2bn-3bn in proceeds. The Ocensa stake sale and asset disposals in Canada have generated roughly US$2.2bn in proceeds so far.
The Advent-led investment group is also purchasing Ocensa stakes from affiliates of French energy major Total (NYSE: TOT) to gain a total 22% interest in the pipeline, Talisman said.
Talisman's other affiliates retain rights to transport approximately 63,000b/d through Ocensa. Talisman plans to use this capacity to deliver propriety crude and to generate third-party revenue.
