Valparaíso region passes urbanization investment plan

Chile’s Valparaíso region approved a 27.6bn-peso (US$33mn) urban improvement portfolio containing 38 projects.

The largest, involving 6.3bn pesos, relates to the construction of sewers in Santa María municipality's Tocornal neighborhood. Other projects include parks, paving works and sports areas, the regional council said on social media.

San Felipe province will get 8.3bn pesos and Marga Marga 6.4bn pesos. Valparaíso province, which includes the regional capital, will get 4.2bn pesos. 

Los Andes will get 3.1bn pesos, San Antonio 2.6bn pesos, Quillota 1.6bn pesos, Petorca 112mn pesos, and Easter Island 108mn pesos.

Additionally, 1.08bn pesos will be for interprovincial projects.
