Wftfruit Expects to Close Transport Deal Tomorrow
Bnamericas Published: Tuesday, December 19, 2000
Chilean online fresh fruit exporter World Food Trade (www.wftfruit.com) expects to close a strategic alliance tomorrow with international container company Maerck Sealand, Wftfruit strategic alliance manager Enrique Delpiano told BNamericas.com. The site handles the sale of Chilean apples, kiwifruit and strawberries in international markets, for which it charges sellers a 1.5% commission and buyers a 1% commission. Payment is carried out online via Webpay (www.transbank.cl), an online payment system operated by Chilean credit and debit card administrator Transbank, Delpiano said, while local delivery firm Integrity and insurance company Coface undertake logistics and insurance respectively. Local entrepreneurs Luis Rivera, Carlos Buzo and Gonzalo Espinoza launched Wftfruit in March for an undisclosed initial investment.
