This section includes: 2 stations: Teya Merida Izamal 4 stops: Calkiní Maxcanu Umán Tixkokob The Mayan Train consists of a new rail transport service that interconnects the main cities and tourist areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. Its objective is to promote social inclusion and job creation through tourism and boost socio-economic development. It will provide passenger service during the day and cargo during the night. To minimize the environmental impact, rights of existing roads such as rail lines, roads and power lines will be used in some segments. The Maya Train project crosses the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
