The line will connect to existing lines 1 and 6 and will allow users to travel between the municipalities of Providencia and Puente Alto in 25 minutes. It will also help to decongest lines 4 and 5. The line will start at Los Leones Avenue in Providencia municipality and then follow Macul and La Florida avenues to end in the municipality of Puente Alto. Line 8 will connect the communes of Providencia, Ñuñoa, Macul, La Florida and Puente Alto, from Los Leones Station, combining with Line 1 to the Mall Plaza Tobalaba, through the Los Leones - Macul axis and Av. La Florida.
