Brief: Higher temperatures push up Brazil's power grid load

National power grid operator ONS said Brazil registered an average power load of 63,580MW in July, in line with the previous month.

In a year-on-year comparison, average power load grew by 3.9% in July. The operator said that key drivers of the growth were higher temperatures in comparison to the same month last year and the normalization of economic activities after the truck drivers' protests ended.

The gradual recovery of the overall economy, however, did not significantly contribute to the higher load.
