Bolivia's second international call for expressions of interest to carry out an environmental impact study for the US$1bn, 600MW Rositas hydroelectric project was declared void.

Proposals from none of the three participants fulfilled reference term requirements, according to state power company Ende.

BNamericas reported in May that the bidders were Envirotec, Tractebel Engineering and IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture-Aguilar y Asociados.


The country's central bank issued a sixth disbursement to Ende for 111mn bolivianos (US$16mn) for the 124MW San José hydroelectric and transmission project, and a second disbursement to Ende for 38.3mn bolivianos for the 5MW Yunchara solar project


Also this month, Ende Transmisión put into service the 230kV Warnes-Las Brechas transmission line, which will reinforce dispatch in Santa Cruz department.

The 119km project cost US$42.8mn and included the expansion of the Warnes substation. The line is the first part of a link around the city of Santa Cruz.
