Bolivian legislators clear wind project financing

Bolivia's senate approved a contract between the development planning ministry and French development agency AFD whereby the latter will provide 66mn euros (US$79mn) to help finance the country's renewable energies investment program.

Priority projects include wind farms La Ventolera (24MW) and Warnes II (21MW) in departments Tarija and Santa Cruz, respectively. State power company Ende will provide 31.3mn euros.

In other financing reports from Bolivia, the central bank disbursed funds to Ende for the following projects:

  • Fifth disbursement for 460mn bolivianos for hydroelectric plant Miguillas.
  • Second disbursement for 69.6mn bolivianos for transmission line Juana Azurduy de Padilla.
  • Third disbursement for 68.4mn bolivianos for transmission line Anillo Energético del Sur.
  • Third disbursement for 47.9mn bolivianos for transmission line San José-Santiváñez.

Meanwhile, Ende issued a call for expressions of interest to supply towers for transmission lines Caranavi-Trinidad (115kV) and Chaco-Tarija (230kV).
