IN BRIEF: Costa Rica to update Diquís hydro studies

Costa Rica's state power company ICE said it appointed Allan Retana Calvo as socio-environmental activities coordinator for 650MW hydroelectric project Diquís.

Retana had been environmental management coordinator for the 306MW Reventazón hydroelectric plant, which recently came online. His team will focus on updating Diquís' environmental studies and carrying out indigenous consultation, among other related tasks.

ICE also reported that private wind farms Altamira and Campos Azules, in Tilarán, and Vientos de Miramar and Vientos de la Perla, in Liberia, will come online between November and January. Each plant has a capacity of 20MW.
