In its latest report, the Peruvian ombudsman's office said that of 139 active and latent socio-environmental conflicts registered in April, 22 related to the hydrocarbons sector, one to power and nine to other energy types.

Bolivia's state power company Ende launched bidding to supervise construction and startup of the 120MW Misicuni hydroelectric complex.

Offers for the 16-month contract are due May 25 with contract signing scheduled for August, according to the procurement notice.
