Brief: Petroecuador to fund road access project
Ecuadoran state oil company Petroecuador and the municipality of Esmeraldas signed an agreement under which the former will finance 5km of additions to the road access network of the city.
The work, which has a budget of US$18.2mn, entails adding three new road stretches to the existing network in the Esmeraldas province capital, as well as two new interchanges and a bridge.
The Esmeraldas city government will cover expenses related to VAT, inspection work and "any additional cost that might come from the project," Petroecuador said in a press release. The company has a refinery in the province.
