Argentine gas distributor fattens export wishlist
Argentina's push to export surplus natural gas continues to whet the appetite of companies in the country, with request number 23 filed with authorities since the government established the new framework for sending the hydrocarbon abroad in August.
The latest submission was filed by Energy Consulting Services (ECS) to deliver gas to power producer Engie Energía Chile, according to Argentina's energy department.
ECS would use third party gas from El Portón and/or Loma La Lata-Sierra Barrosa, Centenario Centro, Agua Salada and Los Bastos in the Neuquén basin, with maximum delivery of 1Mm3/day (212Mm3 maximum) at US$5.25/MMBTU through May 1, 2019
The gas would be shipped to Engie's northern operations via the NorAndino pipeline at the Jama crossing, which straddles Chile's Antofagasta region and Jujuy province in Argentina.
ECS entered a similar request for the same offtaker in early November.

INTEGRATION
Durng an energy integration meeting between Argentine energy secretary Javier Iguacel and Chilean energy minister Susana Jiménez, the latter commented that Argentina's investments in Vaca Muerta may open the door for Chile to receive gas year-round and not solely during the summer season.
The officials also discussed plans for cross-border power exchange with results from studies underway expected next quarter.
