Brazil's Santa Catarina state utility Casan has relaunched a 34.6mn-real (US$22.2mn) consultancy tender to develop a management plan for municipal sanitation services in the southern state, a company spokesperson told BNamericas.
Bids will be opened May 30, the spokesperson said.
An initial tender for the project, which includes developing a plan for various municipalities including state capital Florianopolis, was launched in March. However, the process was cancelled at the request of partial project financier the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), after only one bid was presented.
The competitor, a four-company consortium, bid 34.6mn reais for the consultancy, Casan's technical director Fabio Krieger told BNamericas previously, declining to reveal the name of the bidding company.
Once the plan is complete, Casan will launch a tender for civil construction works. The consultancy firm will also need to supervise construction, providing technical support and assistance with general management and financial planning for 58 months.
Established in 1971, Casan serves 203 of Santa Catarina's 293 municipalities. The utility supplies water to about 2.3mn people.
