USTDA to host local water officials

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

US development agency USTDA will host a delegation of Chilean water sector officials for them to observe the design, manufacture and operation of US products and services to expand water desalination facilities, US President Barack Obama said during a recent visit to Chile.

The trip is timed to position US firms to take advantage of Chile's upcoming investments in initiatives to expand access to water, USTDA reported in a release.

"...I believe Latin America is only going to become more important to the United States, especially to our economy. Trade between the United States and Latin America has surged. We buy more of your products, more of your goods than any other country, and we invest more in this region than any other country," said Obama.
