Glencore plc is a global integrated natural resource company, with a diversified portfolio that includes production and trading of more than 90 commodities, split into three business units: metals and minerals, energy products and agriculture. The company's assets comprise 150 mining and metals, oil and agriculture operations, with products including copper, zinc, lead, nickel, ferroalloys, alumina, aluminum, iron ore, grain, oilseeds products, sugar, pulses and cotton, as well as providing industrial and marketing operations for coal and oil. It has a network of more than 90 offices in over 50 countries. In Latin America, the company holds copper assets in Argentina, Chile and Peru; coal mines in Colombia; zinc assets in Bolivia and Peru, and other agricultural facilities in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. In 2013, Glencore and Anglo-Swiss resource group Xstrata, in which it previously held a stake, merged their operations. Glencore was founded in 1974 under the name Marc Rich + Co AG, and is headquartered in Baar, Switzerland.
