Description:
Marlim Azul Energia S.A. is a joint-venture established in 2018 between Pátria Investments (50.1%), Shell Gas (29.9%) and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Americas (20%) for the development of a gas-powered thermal power plant in Macaé (Rio de Janeiro State). The company is the owner of Vale Azul II thermal power plant, a natural gas-fired station to be installed in Rio de Janeiro. The combined cycle plant will have an output of 466MW and will supply electricity to the country's power grid under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, starting in 2023.
