MOPC kicks off storm drainage work in Central department

Paraguay's public works and communications ( MOPC) minister Efrain Alegre has kicked off a project to improve drainage and prevent flooding in Central department. Work involves installing storm drains, sewerage pipeline and inspection cameras, as well as paving and complementary works, MOPC reported on its website. Local firm Caldetec Ingenieria was awarded the project, which will cost some 7.3bn guaranies (US$1.48mn) and take 180 days to complete. The project will benefit districts 4 Mojones, Villa Elisa and Cacique Lambare.
