Agrositio sees steady movement toward ROI in 2003

Argentine agriculture B2B portal Agrositio believes it has consolidated existing operations, and now broadly forecasts a jump in sales this year, Agrositio sales manager Pablo Garcia Barnetche told BNamericas. Agrositio now has a solid operational base in Argentina, as well as the Mexican and Brazilian markets, Garcia said The portal provides agricultural producers with information for different segments of the industry value chain, and also offers online advertising on its site. The advertising side is targeted at suppliers wanting to promote their products and services. A key ad agreement was reached last year in December with US insurer Aon Risk Management, to promote agriculture insurance over its site. Aon provides insurance coverage for farmers who use special US-made grain storage bags to protect their harvest, Garcia added. Agrositio (www.agrositio.com.ar) was launched in Argentina in November 1999 and has since expanded to Mexico and Brazil, serving buyers and sellers through nine different segments of the agribusiness sector. Principal clients include Toyota, Nissan, Plastar San Luis and Nitragin.
