Argentine province awards gas pipeline contracts

Bnamericas Published: Monday, September 26, 2022

Argentina’s Santa Fe province awarded contracts for a natural gas distribution project.

The province had held two tenders for the Rosario Oeste pipeline, one for construction and one for supplying the pipes.

In a statement, the provincial government said it had awarded the construction work to consortium Víctor M. Contreras-Semisa Infraestructura under a 4.15bn-peso (US$28.4mn) contract. The pipe supply contract, involving 1.07bn pesos, was awarded to Siat-Royo SACIIFyF.

In a related tender, Ingeniería Metalmecánica Eckerdt Gordillo Argentina submitted a bid of 135mn pesos for a project supervision contract.

The distribution infrastructure work – which involves expanding the Gran Rosario pipeline – will boost supply and coverage in Rosario metropolitan area, benefiting more than 120,000 people, the statement said. Work involves laying 36km of new branch lines and 25km of distribution ducts.

Earlier this year Víctor Contreras and Semisa were awarded a contract for a related project, the Metropolitano duct, local press reported. The provincial government has said the Metropolitano pipeline was one of four major projects involving investment of more than US$100mn to bolster and expand local gas supply.
