The complex would be built in Santa Rosa district and sell output to state power company ICE.

Environmental agency Setena has granted the project "potential environmental feasibility."

In recent days, commercial operations were launched at Costa Rica's 49.5MW Chiripa wind farm by Acciona and Grupo Ecoenergía. ICE will purchase offtake under a 20 year PPA from the park, which is also located in Guanacaste.

Aresep also proposed modifications to the renewable energy generation rates model to reflect new market conditions in benefit of users.
