Wind speed ranges between 6.9-7m/s, according to INP, which adds the complex would boast 20 turbines at a height of 80m and produce an estimated 112MWh/year.

Studies also include basic geology and geotechnical work, foundations, access roads, interconnections, economic evaluation and definitive EIS.

INP's power and renewable energy portfolio includes wind project El Arenal planned for Bolívar province.

Ecuador's effective capacity at end-April totaled 5.1GW. Non-renewables accounted for 53.9%, hydroelectric 43.9%, biomass 1.83%, wind 0.37% and solar 0.10%.
