Panama's 1st solar supply call draws 13

Thirteen groups submitted offers on Tuesday in Panama's first call to supply electricity from solar power plants.

The participants were Agua Dulce Solar, Avanzalia Panamá, El Higo Investment, FRV Solar Panamá, I Power, Keira Development, Panama Energía Solar III, Panama Solar Energy Providers, Panameña de Energía Solar II, IV and V, Photovoltaics Investments, Progreso Solar 20MW, and Solpacora and Solpac Investment, according to state transmission company Etesa.

Winners, who will be announced in the coming weeks, will supply distributors Edechi, Edemet and Ensa for 20 years starting January 1, 2017.

Panama's first grid connected solar plant came online in February and the country's development pipeline for this renewable energy nears 700MW.
