The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Nuño Lara, and the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, gave the signal for the start of works on Line 4 of the Guadalajara Light Train.

"We all know that one of the priority commitments of our President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, from the beginning of his administration, is the conclusion of works of great importance that we inherited from the recent past throughout the Republic and that had not been finished," he said. Nuño Lara.

More than ten years ago, he added, the management for the construction of Line 4 of the Light Train began in the municipality of Tlajomulco, a long-awaited and very important infrastructure project for the state of Jalisco.

He said he was happy to share with the people of Jalisco the beginning of this new transport route between Tlajomulco and Guadalajara, which will be made up of two mass transport systems in the Tapatía metropolitan area and will serve a population of just over 275,000 inhabitants.

Line 4 of the Light Train will be a modern, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly transport system, whose construction will have the challenge of being carried out in the very short term.

“It will be an alternative with wide coverage that facilitates the movement of people, with many and very varied origin-destination options, with shorter travel times and greater security,” he commented.

And as a result of the greater connectivity that this new line will offer, the economic potential of its area of influence will increase, the federal official emphasized.

In the company of the general director of Railway and Multimodal Development, Manuel Gómez Parra, the head of the SICT highlighted that with the start of work on Line 4 of the Light Train, there is also continuity in the works started last June for the construction of the overpass over Adolf Horn avenue.

"The state of Jalisco, and in particular the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, has always been characterized by its permanent effort to develop new mobility and transport systems, especially in densely populated areas, to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, a sample Undoubtedly this is this new train route”, expressed Nuño Lara.

This project will be the spearhead for the shared use of the right-of-way of a cargo concessionaire, Ferromex, and for passenger service, making better use of the existing infrastructure of the national rail network, he said.

Nuño Lara pointed out: “The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, which I have the honor of heading, is present today in the great state of Jalisco to close ranks with its people and with its Government; We are sure that with the joint effort of all of us we will carry out one more of the necessary infrastructure works for our country”.

Therefore, he endorsed the commitment of the SICT team and his own with the people of Jalisco. "Rest assured that we will come to supervise the work until the inauguration of this great work," he said.

On his occasion, the governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for his willingness to comply with the construction of Line 4 of the Guadalajara Train.

In the process of making this transportation system viable, he said, the participation of the head of the SICT, Jorge Nuño Lara, and the team from this Secretariat have been key to overcoming the technical challenge.

He stressed that with a coordinated work of the three levels of government, Line 4 will articulate Tlajomulco with Tlaquepaque and also with Guadalajara. He recalled that at the beginning of the six-year term it was possible to finish Line 3, as well as the peripheral macro.

During the work tour of Jalisco, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, Jorge Nuño Lara, visited the Ferromex facilities, accompanied by the president of this company, Alfredo Casar Pérez, who also serves as president of the Mexican Association of Railways ( MFA).

There he toured the Operations Control Center, the Training Center and the Round House. Likewise, he met with middle managers of the SICT-Jalisco Center, accompanied by its general director, Ernesto Rubio Ávalos.
