Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández has designated ambassador to the US, Marlon Tábora Muñoz, to coordinate the economic cabinet and, in particular, the recovery of loss-plagued state power company Enee, ahead of a new agreement with the IMF.

Tábora already met with the finance secretary and other government officials, as well as with private business council Cohep,

For its part, Enee workers union STENEE has backed the new appointment.

Meanwhile, the state operator extended to February 21 the bidding deadline for the process to supply electricity from thermo plants for 10 years starting in 2020, with awarding now scheduled in May and contract signing in August.
