Statement from Fonatur
(Machine translation)
In the Mayan Train project, the assembly of pre-slabs began on the keystones of the elevated viaduct through which it will cross the city of Tenosique, Tabasco, at the same time as the foundation of the Candelaria stationes was completed.
In addition, the works of the Campeche Bypass and the Edzná station have picked up pace, as has the Mérida-Campeche viaduct, while a vehicular crossing enters into operation at the entrance to Sudzal, Yucatán.
After the assembly of the pre-slabs for the elevated viaduct in Tenosique, Tabasco, in stretch 1, which goes from Palenque to Escárcega, the steel reinforcement and casting of the slab for the laying of the train track will be carried out.
In this same section, at the Candelaria, Campeche, station, which will have a wastewater treatment plant to irrigate green areas, while the construction of sanitary, rainwater and hydraulic facilities is also advancing.
In stretch 2, from Escárcega to Calkiní, in the town of Santa Rosa, Tenabo municipality, track assembly, bolting and fixing continues, which will guarantee the movement of the train in complete safety, while in the Campeche Bypass and in the Edzná station, work is intensified with night shifts to optimize progress of the works.
In section 3, which goes from Calkiní to Izamal, near the community of Tebec, Umán, in Yucatán, the construction of the Mérida-Campeche viaduct is advancing with the assembly of girders. Likewise, near Maxcanú, rail welding continues; every day more than 25 welds are made, which is equivalent to a full kilometer.
In section 4, from Izamal to Cancún, at the access to Sudzal, the construction of a vehicular passage was completed, which has already been opened to traffic in the area and will allow the safe passage of the Mayan Train.
