Mexican energy regulator issues several new permits

Mexican energy regulator CRE has approved a series of new permits for private sector players.

At a meeting on Friday, CRE issued three power generation permits to Generación Industrial, Vive Energía Suministro and Ola de Luz. It also allowed ESJ Renovable, Mexichem Resinas Vinílicas and Eólica Guadalupe to modify their existing generation permits to account for an updated calendar.

As it had done in previous meetings, the commission gave the green light to requests by partners of self-supply and cogeneration permits to have their load centers excluded from those permits. The three permits in question are held by Iberdrola Cogeneración, Don Diego Solar and Ventika.

In the oil and gas sector, CRE denied an oil sale permit request by Sercón Sinergia Empresarial and issued three LPG sales permits, four distribution permits and 13 permits to sell LPG for vehicle use. It also greenlit 18 fuel sales permits.

Friday’s meeting was held only four days after a previous meeting that saw the regulator approve permits for power generation, LPG and fuel sales.
