Mexico looks to award contract to expand Tulum wastewater treatment plant

Mexico's Quintana Roo state is calling for bids on a contract to increase the capacity of the Bicentenario wastewater treatment plant that serves the Tulum tourism hub.

Bids will be received on December 23 and the contract is due to be awarded on December 26, according to procurement site Compranet.

The works involve doubling the wastewater treatment capacity of the plant to 240l/s from the current 120l/s.

On December 14, the Quintana Roo water and sewerage commission (CAPA) arranged a visit to the construction site, but no interested parties showed up.

Two days later, the local authority held a session to resolve doubts on the part of bidders, but no questions were submitted.

If the authority does not receive bids by December 23, the process could be declared void.
