
Mexico mulls 10 new hospital projects

Mexican social security institute IMSS aims to complete preinvestment studies for 10 hospital projects still this year.
The studies cover new hospitals and the modernization and expansion of existing facilities.
Contracts to determine project feasibility will be awarded directly by IMSS in separate no-bidding contests, according to records on procurement site Compranet.
All are set to be completed by year-end, as works have been scheduled to last 30 days, starting November 23.
Preinvestment Study Contracts
One tender (AO-050GYR119-E50-2022) is to determine feasibility of a new 72-bed hospital in Guanajuato city, which will replace the existing general hospital No. 10. The studies include technical feasibility and environmental impact.
Tender AO-050GYR119-E51-2022 concerns determining the feasibility of a project to expand and modernize operating rooms at the existing Siglo XXI national health center in Mexico City.
In Jalisco state capital Guadalajara, tender AO-050GYR119-E52-2022 is to determine the feasibility of a project to construct a building in the compound of general hospital No. 14, which will also require expansion and modernization works.
IMSS also launched tenders to determine the feasibility of a project to replace the existing family medical unit No. 2 of Mexicali in Baja California state (AO-050GYR119-E53-2022), a project to construct a family unit in Quintana Roo state’s Tulum (AO-050GYR119-E54-2022) and a project to replace the existing family unit No. 50 in capital Guanajuato (AO-050GYR119-E55-2022).
The seventh contract (AO-050GYR119-E56-2022) involves determining the feasibility to increase capacity of general hospital No. 1 in Tepic, Nayarit state.
The eighth tender (AO-050GYR119-E57-2022) involves expanding and modernizing three units of specialized hospital No. 71 in Torreon, Coahuila, the ninth (AO-050GYR119-E58-2022) concerns the construction of a 260-bed hospital in Puebla state’s Amozoc municipality and the tenth (AO-050GYR119-E59-2022) seeks to determine the feasibility of a project to modernize and expand the intensive care unit of Monclova’s general hospital No. 7 in Coahuila.
