Peru authorizes US$17mn bond issue to finance infra projects

Peru’s finance ministry (MEF) authorized the issuing of up to 64.1mn soles (US$17mn) in bonds to help finance 24 projects in the south-central Apurímac region, as well as five pre-investment studies and technical filings.

The operation will involve one or more bond placements either this year or next, according to a decree.

The biggest projects to benefit are: 

– Improvements to two schools in Abancay province (27mn soles)

– Improvements to two schools in Talaver district (18mn soles)

– Improvements to the Gregorio Méndel de Chuquibambilla institute in Grau province (17mn soles)

– Improvement to the Pueblo Castro stadium in Cuarahuasi district (9mn soles)

Other projects include upgrades to irrigation systems, new wastewater infrastructure and roadworks.
