The Ministry of Public Works and Communications ( MOPC ) has begun maintenance and rehabilitation work on Route PY19, the Villa Oliva-Alberdi section, in the Ñeembucú department. In this first phase, critical areas will be patched, followed by complete milling and resurfacing from kilometer 40 to Alberdi.

Engineer Pedro Cantero, head of the MOPC's District 12, inspected the work begun this week by the awarded contractor, Consorcio Central Vial, which is comprised of DC Ingeniería SA, Vialtec SA, TR Construcciones SA, and Iniciativas Constructivas Sociedad Anónima. The contract amounts to G. 101,998,023,817.

This project corresponds to MOPC No. 03/2024, which covers the maintenance and rehabilitation, at unit prices, of several sections, including three lots and a total of 325.2 km of the national road network in the Eastern and Western regions of the country. In this case, it includes 68.2 km of Route PY19, from the Villeta (Central) section at km 40 to Alberdi (Ñeembucú).

The established execution period is 18 months, divided into 12 months for rehabilitation and 6 months for maintenance. The works are financed by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean ( CAF ) as part of the "CFA 8729 Integration Corridor Improvement and Road Reconstruction Program."
