Description

The bridge connects the rail networks of Argentina and Uruguay, becoming an extension of the line that is expected to connect to the 52km Trasandino Central low-altitude rail tunnel. The structure links Uruguayan department Colonia to Argentine province Corrientes. The bridge, which became operational in September 2011, is controlled by Uruguay's transport and public works ministry (MTOP).
