Description

The El Caracol stormwater pumping plant will have capacity to move 40m3/s and is required to reinforce the drainage system and avoid flooding in Mexico City. The project forms part of the first phase of the Emisor Oriente drainage tunnel. Construction of the pumping station was tendered in two parts. The first phase, which involves subsurface works, was awarded to ICA subsidiary Cotrisa. The second phase, which involves work above ground, was awarded to a consortium including La Peninsular Compañía Constructora and Alcance Total, both part of Grupo Hermes, as well as Aqualia Infraestructuras.
