Mini Hydro Dams

Description: Ypané is a project which aims to tap Concepción department's hydro potential by building a small hydro plant on Ypané river, which will boast two 7MW turbines. It is expected to have a low environmental impact, with the 60ha flooded by the dam serving for the cultivation of rice. In addition, it will contribute to local development by providing 1,500 local jobs during the construction phase.
