The reservoir will have an area of 646km². The drop will be 16 meters deep, generating 2,338MW through 40 bulb turbines of 59.7 MW each. It will produce 11,264 GW/year. The consortium Grupo de Estudo Tapajós is responsible for the project. The consortium is composed of Eletrobras, Eletronorte, EDF, Camargo Corrêa, Cemig, Copel, GDF SUEZ, Endesa Brasil and Neoenergia.
