Brief: Guyana to conduct hydro study
Guyana's public infrastructure ministry will conduct a study to determine the feasibility of building hydropower projects at Phillipai and Pariuma in the Upper Mazaruni, Region Seven, the government's Department of Public Information (DPI) quoted regional chairman Gordon Bradford as saying.
DPI also reported that other Region Seven projects include development of a 1.5MW, 18-month US$3.8mn solar park which is due to begin this year, and a 1MW US$5.3mn hydro in the technical assessment phase. Both of these projects are planned for Bartica.
