The line will have stations and interconnect with existing transport corridors. Passengers will be able to travel north from Quitumbe to Mariscal Sucre airport in about 30 minutes, a journey that takes around two hours. Metro de Quito has divided the project into three tenders. Phase I involves building multimodal stations La Magdalena and El Labrador. Phase II involves building a tunnel, the remaining subway stations and installing electro-mechanical components. The third tender involves the rolling stock. The metro line will run from the Quitumbe station to El Labrador station in Ecuadoran capital Quito.
