Argentina's La Rioja province on February 24 will launch a tender for the construction of a new natural gas pipeline, the provincial press office said in a statement. The La Rioja-Chumbicha pipeline will have a capacity of 20,000m3/h and double the supply of natural gas to residential and industrial users in the provincial capital of La Rioja. The federal government is expected to fund the 90mn-peso (US$25.5mn) project. Construction will last 10 months, with works finishing in May or June of 2010, according to the statement.
