AES El Salvador and Texaco inaugurated their first electric station. The new charging station for electric vehicles has been installed at the Texaco “La Skina” gas station, located in the municipality of Santa Tecla, Department of La Libertad.

Abraham Bichara , Executive President of AES El Salvador, mentioned: “We are committed to implementing innovation in our operations and providing the country with technologies that allow us to achieve a more sustainable energy future. It is for this reason that electric mobility is one of the most important strategic bets for AES El Salvador . "

To date, AES has installed nine electric chargers in its commercial offices and technical facilities (three in the eastern area, two in the western area and four in the central area), and recently one in the offices of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) and another at the Texaco gas station.

By the end of 2021, the energy company will have opened five more electric stations in strategic places of public access such as: government offices, shopping centers, banks, vehicle distribution agencies and gas stations.

" Together with Texaco we share the vision of a more sustainable El Salvador, for that reason we inaugurated our first electric station, with the aim of promoting electromobility in the country." mentioned Bichara

For his part, Pedro Siguí , Partner of Grupo NSV and owner of Texaco La Skina expressed: “We thank AES and Chevron, under their Texaco brand, for the trust placed in us to become the first service station in the country that will provide the recharging service to customers with electric vehicles, we have always supported the generation of renewable energy, that is why, in four stations operated by Grupo NSV we have infrastructure of solar panels, which allows us to provide our customers with the recharge of their electric cars for free ”.

“The AES electric stations have a load capacity of 7.4kw, have a weather-resistant design that prolongs their useful life by 10 years and are equipped with WiFi, which allows their performance to be monitored remotely in real time” explained Roberto Sandoval , General Director of the Solutions Division of AES El Salvador.

Roberto Sandoval specified that the full charge of an average electric vehicle is around four hours, providing a range of movement of up to 412 kilometers.

AES and Texaco reported that during the implementation stage of this project, users will not have to pay for the energy consumed to recharge their car, thus stimulating the use of this environmentally friendly technology.

This is how AES El Salvador reaffirms its commitment to contribute to environmental sustainability and encourages other sectors of society to bet on the energy future of El Salvador.
