Brazil’s Capixaba Energia secures gas supply contract
Brazil’s Capixaba Energia (formerly Imetame Energia Lagoa Parda) has signed a natural gas supply contract with ceramic coatings manufacturer Biancogrês, a source with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told BNamericas.
The gas will come from Capixaba’s Lagoa Parda onshore hub, in the Espírito Santo basin, which was acquired from national oil company Petrobras in 2020.
The plan is for logistics and distribution firm Logás to compress the gas at a station in Linhares municipality and then transport it by road to Espírito Santo’s gas distribution concessionaire, ES Gás.
ESGás will decompress the gas and transport it via its pipeline grid in Regência to Biancogrês’ plant in Serra. For this purpose, ESGás and Biancogrês will sign a contract in the free (non-regulated) market.
The Lagoa Parda hub encompasses the Lagoa Parda, Lagoa Parda Norte and Lagoa Piabanha fields. Together they produced 4,300m3/d of gas in October, according to the latest data from sector watchdog ANP.
