Pepillo Salcedo, Montecristi.- President Luis Abinader started work on the construction of the 414 MW Manzanillo Power Land thermoelectric generation plant , with the aim of contributing to strengthening national energy security through the generation of clean energy and sustainable.

This project, with a private investment of approximately 585,500 dollars and developed by the company Energía 2000, will generate around 2,700 direct jobs and will contribute to the efficient supply of electricity in the country for its growing development, while taking into account the diversification of the natural gas supply.

Transmission Line 345 KV

With an approximate investment of 135 million dollars, the construction of a 345 KV electrical transmission line is included to interconnect the Manzanillo Power Land plant with the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI) , through an outlet with a power switch on the El Naranjo substation.

In addition, the construction of a gas pipeline with a length of 7.2 km is contemplated, which will carry the natural gas from the port of Manzanillo to the generation plant; projects that add modernity and industrialization to the province of Montecristi .

On his side, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, assured that these projects constitute historical events for the development of the Dominican electrical system , since they create the generation and delivery capacity of energy in the DR, sufficient to supply the annual peak demand. and maintain a reserve of a minimum of 20% that guarantees the stability of the electrical service in the country.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Víctor "Ito" Bisonó, stated that this infrastructure will contribute to the efficient supply of electricity in the country for its development and at the same time will introduce diversification with the supply of natural gas.

"From the government we have contributed to the greatest expansion of the energetic, diverse, reliable, safe and economically accessible."

The director of the Dominican Port Authority, Jean Luis Rodríguez, assured that these power generation plants will contribute to the reduction of blackouts and boost the economy of the area.

The representative of Energía 2000, Arturo Santana Reyes, stressed that this project promises to promote safe and efficient electrical energy, also generating effective solutions for energy demand, as well as creating a positive impact and contributing to environmental effects.
