Movistar pays over US$200mn for 4G spectrum

Telefónica's Argentine unit Movistar has paid US$209mn for 4G spectrum, telecom department Secom said in a statement.

For 4G, Movistar was awarded a license for the 1,710-1,720MHz and 2,110-2,120MHz bands.

On December 10, Mexico's América Móvil unit Claro paid US$281mn for additional 3G and 4G spectrum in Argentina.
