São Paulo launches train station reconstruction tender
São Paulo metropolitan rail company CPTM has launched a tender for a 149mn-real (US$42.2mn) contract to rebuild its Francisco Morato train station.
The station is about 50km north of the city on line No. 7, also known as the ruby line.
Companies and consortium should submit offers for the 48-month project by May 17. Companies must have 11.9mn reais in capital and consortiums 15.5mn reais, according to a São Paulo state procurement notice.
Bidders must prove they have experience in the construction of buildings of at least 2,000m2 used for a collective transport system, the notice said.
Francisco Morato has a population of about 175,000. The ruby line connects downtown São Paulo to the city of Jundiaí, about 9km northwest of Francisco Morato.
