Project Details

The east Arraiján Wastewater Treatment Plant project, part of the Panamá Oeste sanitation program, seeks to improve the sanitary and environmental conditions of the 85,000 inhabitants of Burunga, Arraiján Cabecera, Cerro Silvestre, Nuevo Chorrillo and the housing estates of Fundavico, Montevista, Altos de Cáceres II, Brisas del Sol and Colinas del Sol, through the construction of the wastewater treatment plant and the construction of 5km of sewerage networks in Burunga, the Cáceres River basin, the Perico river basin, the Potrero river basin and in the three pumping stations. The project is born due to the important economic and population growth that the districts of Arraiján and La Chorrera have had in the last years, as a result of serving as a dormitory city for the population that moves daily to work to the capital city. It is recognized that both districts have become urban areas of rapid development, making the adaptation and construction of a sanitary sewer system necessary to meet current and future needs and demands, through the implementation of a sanitation project for both districts.
