Description: Nueva Valdivia Substation Expansion Substations The Project corresponds to the expansion of the Nueva Valdivia substation, which is currently in normal operation since July 22, 2019. It was environmentally qualified by Exempt Resolution No. 005/2018, of the SEA of the River region. It should be noted that the “Nueva Valdivia Substation” is under the name of “El Laurel Substation”, according to the Coordinator's page, where all the technical documentation for this substation can be found. The Project approved with RCA No. 005/2018 considered the construction of the 220 kV Nueva Valdivia sectioning substation, whose purpose is to section the current 2x220kV line, Valdivia - Rahue, which considered a total area of 1.32 ha. The expansion of the Nueva Valdivia Substation includes the construction of a 66kV yard in the main bar plus transfer bar configuration, with space for at least 5 additional panels, the installation of a 220 / 66kV, 60 MVA transformer with their respective connection panels at both voltage levels and, the channeling for the underground outlet of a 66kV line. The new transformation equipment will not be able to share the same diagonal in the 220kV yard, thus connecting through the incorporation of an additional half diagonal. In addition, the existing 23kV Patio main bar must be expanded by 4 sections and room will be made for the future construction of a bar with the same characteristics. The Project is part of the Expansion Plan of the Zonal Transmission System of the National Electric System (SEN) decreed by the Ministry of Energy, and is part of the provisions of Exempt Decree No. 418 of the Ministry of Energy, published in the Official Gazette on August 19, 2017, which sets the List of Zonal Transmission Facilities of mandatory execution. The Project responds to the need to strengthen the national electricity system, which will allow it to supply the growing electricity consumption, distribute and derive Valdivia's energy more efficiently at the local and regional level.
