Description: Relocation Pile No. 3 Waste and sterile disposal projects The Project consists of the transfer and deposit of around 1.6 million cubic meters of gravel that make up Pile No. 3, to another existing pile of gravel, called Pile N #2. The approximate distance between both piers is of the order of 1 km, with Pier No. 2 in a southeasterly direction with respect to Pier No. 3. The movement of gravel will be carried out by trucks, using existing roads from the former Lo Aguirre mining site, and under design and operation standards that allow the material receiving pile (Pile No. 2) to maintain its condition of physical and chemical stability. Although this activity is not part of the actions commonly expected for the development of a typical mining project evaluated in the SEIA, it is possible to define: a construction phase, which corresponds to the authorization of work facilities required for the proper development of the activities; an operation phase, which considers the process of removing, transporting and stacking the rubble from Pile No. 3 on Pile No. 2; and finally a closure phase, which corresponds to the dismantling and removal of the work facilities and general cleaning of the site. The objective of the Project is to relocate the rubble that makes up Pile No. 3 in another existing pile of rubble called Pile No. 2, both remaining mining facilities from the former Lo Aguirre mining operation. The relocation will be carried out under design and operation standards that allow the material receiving pile (Pile No. 2) to maintain its condition of physical and chemical stability.
