São Paulo state water utility Sabesp has renewed its contract to provide services for the city of Taubaté over the next 30 years.
Under the contract, the company plans to invest 266mn reais (US$81.5mn) in the city over the three decades.
Sabesp, which has provided services in Taubaté since 1982, said that of the total to be invested 172mn reais will be spent to reduce water losses and expand water supply infrastructure, the state government said in a release.
The rest will be used to improve sanitation systems.
